Generally a catalog of products or services with an on-line buying system which doesn't necessarily mean that on-line payment will occur. An e-commerce B2B website (e-procurement) facilitates business with suppliers, distributors and clients directly on the web.


Why ?

To promote client loyalty, cut distribution costs and open up new markets.


What about promotion ? 

Your e-commerce B2B site will be successful if you devote time and budget to promoting the website :

1. Start telling your distributors that you're going to open a website where they'll be able to order directly on-line, get them used to the idea beforehand
2. Once the service is ready, call in the sales dept. and your distributors and present it to them.
3. If possible, make private appointments with your distributors to present the service and get their feedback.
4. Promote on-line ordering by offering special offers and promotions available only on-line.
5. Promote on-line ordering with a prize for those who use the service the most - who order the most - of one product or product line.

So that each order can be considered firm and legal, write up a contract for your distributors who agree that all orders made over the Internet are final and use personalized logins and passwords.
